CAMDEN PUNKS

The punks

How the punks work

The picture is free forever — anyone can make one and use it. Minting is the step that makes one yours: a numbered punk, held in your wallet, that you can keep, show off or sell.

Holders only

You need $CAMDEN in your wallet to mint. That's the whole point of it — the punks give the coin a job.

Half gets burned

Half of everything you pay buys $CAMDEN on Uniswap and destroys it. The supply actually drops, and you can check it on the explorer.

The art is on the chain

Your punk is drawn inside the contract, not stored on this website. If this site disappeared tomorrow, every punk would still be there.

Start to finish

  1. Hold some $CAMDEN. The gate is 0.02% of the supply — about a pound at launch. It is a share, not a fixed pile of coins, so it moves with the supply as coins are burned.
  2. Your punk already exists. The generator doesn't draw it — it asks the contract to, using the same seed the mint uses (keccak256 of your address). So the punk you've been using as a profile picture is the one you'll mint, down to the last safety pin. Only two things are settled on the day: the number printed along the bottom, and whether you land one of the 19 gold one-of-ones. No mystery box, no reveal, no gamble.
  3. Mint it. You pay the current price plus a few pence of gas. Half goes to the creator, half is banked to buy and burn coins.
  4. Your tier is set at that moment — and you can level it up later, whenever your balance earns a higher one. It can never go down.
  5. It's yours. Keep it, show it, or sell it on OpenSea. Nobody can take it back, change it, or mint more than 19,770.

The three tiers

Same face, better gear. What you hold when you mint decides which one you get — permanently.

Punk0.02% of supply — your jacket, your badges, your piercings, all drawn from your wallet
Headliner0.2% of supply — studded shoulders, neon spikes, backstage pass
Legend1% of supply — gold mohawk, gold chain, a halo of safety pins

A Legend can only ever be minted by someone holding 1% of the entire supply, so there will never be many. That's not a rule we enforce by hand — the contract checks your balance at the moment you mint.

What it costs

Fixed at deployment. Nobody can raise it, lower it, or mint free ones — the creator included.

Punks #1–1,9770.005 ETH — "The 1977", for the people who turn up first
#1,978–5,0000.010 ETH — "The Crowd"
#5,001–10,0000.015 ETH — "The Gig"
#10,001–19,7700.020 ETH — "The Riot"

Prices are in ETH, so what that is in pounds or dollars moves with ETH.

Where your money goes

50%

Burned into the coin

Banked in the contract, then spent buying $CAMDEN on Uniswap. Every coin it buys is destroyed, so the total supply drops. Anyone can trigger it and anyone can check it.

50%

The creator

Said out loud, up front, like the 1% trading fee. No hidden wallet, no "marketing fund" that quietly means the same thing.

There's also a 1% royalty request on resales. Marketplaces treat royalties as optional these days, so treat that as a maybe rather than a promise.

Levelling up

Your punk's tier is set when you mint, but it isn't stuck there. Hold more $CAMDEN and you can promote it. It costs one punk's worth of ETH, plus a pinch of your own coins — which are destroyed, not collected.

Only upwards

If your balance doesn't earn a higher tier, the contract refuses and keeps your money. Nothing you buy can quietly demote itself.

Still standing after

The coins come out of your own balance, and the contract checks you still hold the tier once they're gone. Reaching for gold at exactly 1% won't do: you need about 1.05%, so the badge is true the moment after you've paid for it.

Whoever owns it

Not just whoever minted it. Buy a cheap Punk second-hand, hold enough coin, and promote it yourself.

Priced by the prize

Reaching for gold burns 0.05% of the supply from your own balance; studs cost 0.01%. Twenty gold promotions would burn a Legend's entire stake — so nobody mass-produces them.

History stays honest

The metadata records whether a tier was earned "At mint" or "Levelled up", so an original Legend stays distinguishable forever.

Odds and ends

Strays

Your first mint is your wallet's punk. Mint more and you get strays — punks drawn from the token number instead, so collectors aren't capped at one.

19 one-of-ones

Numbers like #1, #77, #1977 and #19,770 come with a black-and-gold background nobody else can get. First come, first served — they aren't reserved for anyone.

Rarity

Some traits are deliberately rare: the flop haircut, wraparound shades, a gold tooth. Nothing is hand-picked afterwards; the contract rolls it from your address.

No owner

Same as the coin. No admin key, no pause button, no way to change the price or mint extras. What's deployed is what you get, forever.

Read this bit

A punk is a collectible, not an investment. Nobody is promising it will be worth anything, and the same picture stays downloadable free by anyone — what you're buying is ownership, scarcity and proof of your tier, not exclusive art. Only spend what you'd happily set on fire. Nothing here is financial advice.
